Glen Banvie Wood
Warm and woody – a sweet vanilla musk reveals smooth hints of warm chocolate and mandarin amidst scent of ancient moss and trees.
From the Woodlands of Glen Banvie the Forest of Atholl extends to over 100,000 acres far behind the Highland Perthshire villages of Blair Atholl, Struan and Calvine. This centuries old ancient forest forms the southern gateway to the Cairngorms National Park.
A short way from the tumbling Falls of Bruar this ancient Caledonian woodland is home to generations of Alder, Ash, Aspen, Birch, Cherry, Elder, Elm, Hawthorn, Hazel, Holly, Juniper, Oak, Rowan, Scots Pine, Willow and Yew trees. The trees on these south facing mountain slopes release a heady and wonderful woodland aroma as they are gently warmed by the sun during the long Highland summer when nightfall last only for a few short hours on each day.
